Conflicts and disagreement - solve with Emotional Intelligence

Dealing with conflicts and disagreements requires intervention of EI.

But EI is not confined to understanding other emotions. It also focuses on how you manage your emotions which are juxtaposed to reactions of others.


In conflicting situations, the environment may heat up & may go in the wrong direction. Therefore one needs to focus on-


1. Listen first- it helps in understanding the actual depth of the perspective of the other party.


2. Respond later- understand the difference between reaction & response. Don't get overpowered by emotions. Just respond to a stimulus.


3. Stay calm by focusing on the middle ground.


4. Don't take things personally. It is the hardest thing to execute but always remember it is a professional setup.
