Emotional Intelligence is Listening

Listening intently is about reading between the lines. It always helps to reduce the gap of misunderstanding. Active listening is an integral part of Emotional Intelligence.

When we listen with the intention to understand the other party while conveying our point of view, the communication is efficient. In a stressful environment, mostly we lose the essence of the work's objective while getting digressed by stress induced stimuli. Listening will help in direct & indirect communication -

1. When we listen, we get more data to understand the problem.

2. It helps in building a perspective which is not single handedly biased.

3. The gesture of simple listening also creates a non verbal cue of reverence for the other party's ideology.
